Israel

Benjamin Disraeli stated, “The view of Jerusalem is the history of the world; it is more, it is the history of earth and of heaven.” Sacred to the three Abrahamic religions, Judaism, Christianity, and Islam; are all united in their reverence of Jerusalem as the holiest of cities. When we visited Israel, we loosely followed in the footsteps of Moses, departing Cairo and crossing under the Red Sea canal at Suez, exploring St. Catherine’s Monastery at Mount Sinai (Jebel Musa) and finally driving north to Jerusalem. From the Western Wall and the Dome of the Rock, to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, the Old City provides the backdrop for centuries of historical conflict, passion, drama, and prayer.
